National Cherry Blossom Festival March 20-April 14, 2013

Its Cherry Blossom time in Washington, DCIts that time of again when the roads around the tidal basin turn pink!  Commuting doesn’t seem to be so arduous when all that pink surrounds you.  Around DC, Cherry Blossom time marks for most, the beginning of Spring.  Yes, we share our city with loads or tourists, but we are lucky we didn’t have to travel too far to catch a glimpse of this spectacle.  It is estimated peak bloom time to be around March 20, 2013. Pack the family, the picnic and the blanket and head down to the tidal basin for some optimal gazing time! This is one of the most anticipated times of year around the metropolitan area.  Not just because of the beautiful trees, but because of all of the events surrounding this festival. Think paddle boats, boat tours around the monuments and blooms, and the pink tie party to benefit the festival.  With such a short time to admire the beauty,  its best to plan ahead and witness all of the splendor that you can handle.
