April 23-25, 2015. The Smithsonian Craft Show is an exhibit of more than 120 exceptional craft artists, representing works in basketry, ceramics, decorative fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, wearable art, and wood. This is your opportunity to purchase items from the most prestigious exhibition of contemporary American crafts in the nation.
Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival
April 24–May 3, 2015, Winchester, VA. The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival is a celebration of spring in the Northern Shenandoah Valley. The event is one of the the largest in the Mid-Atlantic area, taking over the town of Winchester, Virginia. This is a great time to enjoy the Virginia countryside and see the blooming apple trees while they color the region in pink, white and green. The ten-day festival features more than 45 events including the Coronation of Queen Shenandoah, the Grand Feature Parade, band competitions, dances, a carnival, a 10K run, Firefighters events and more.”Get Your Bloom On!” is the theme for the 2015 Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival.
April 24-25, 2015. Georgetown’s Annual French Market returns to the charming Book Hill neighborhood…….on upper Wisconsin Ave, between P Street and Reservoir Road, NW Washington DC, on Friday and Saturday, April 24-25, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. featuring fashion, French fare, quaint home and antique shops, galleries and live music. This is a great time to explore the shopping in one of Washington’s top neighborhoods while enjoying the spring weather.
White House Spring Garden Tours
April 25-26, 2015. The White House Garden Tours have been a tradition since 1972 when Pat Nixon first opened the White House gardens to the public. Two weekends each year, visitors are invited to view the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, Rose Garden,Children’s Garden and South Lawn of the White House. Additionally, the White House Kitchen Garden – the first vegetable garden at the White House since Eleanor Roosevelt’s Victory Garden – is also accessible to guests. The tour includes a visual explanation to help educate visitors on the elements of the garden.
Loudoun Bed and Breakfast Open Houses
April 26, 2015, 1–5 p.m. The Loudoun Bed & Breakfast Open House Tour is a FREE event held each spring. Take a self-guided tour along some of the most scenic roads in Loudoun County, Virginia and visit a variety of charming and historic B&Bs and event venues. Local wineries, restaurants, and caterers provide tastings at the various destinations. This is a wonderful way to enjoy the countryside of Loudoun County and a unique opportunity to look around the B&Bs, which are not normally open to the public to view if they are not actually staying there.
