Butterfly Pavilion
Take a stroll among live butterflies and exotic plants! Located adjacent to Partners in Evolution, this tropical oasis offers visitors a rare opportunity to get close to a variety of living butterflies from all over the world. Tickets are required for the Butterfly Pavilion. Purchase tickets online to avoid sold out time-slots. They are also available at the Museum on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are timed-entry at 15-minute intervals, 40 tickets per interval.
Bethesda Fine Arts Festival

Delight in fine art created by 130 of the nation’s best artists, live entertainment and Bethesda restaurants.
Located in Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle, along Norfolk, Auburn & Del Ray Avenues. Admission to the festival is free and free parking is available in the public parking garage on Auburn Avenue. This event is held rain or shine.

Celebrate Mother’s Day together, sampling period teas, finger sandwiches and delicious desserts while a costumed interpreter leads a lively lesson in historical tea etiquette. After the tea, family members can create a special period craft to take home for the Moms in their lives.
Take a Cruise Along The Potomac

Riverboat Cruises – These short sightseeing cruises travel along the Potomac River and past some of the regions most notable landmarks. Some excursions go to Old Town Alexandria and National Harbor. Cruises run several times a day, weather permitting.
Lunch/Dinner Cruises – Enjoy a gourmet meal and live entertainment aboard a two-or three-hour luxury cruise vessel, while taking in the beautiful views of Washington DC’s monuments. Skipjack – Sailing – The Potomac Riverboat Company provides 90-minute sightseeing sails on their skipjack Minnie V, one of less than 30 skipjacks remaining in the country. Two-hour Sunset Fireworks Cruises are also available on Saturday evenings. This 20-passenger sailboat is also available for private charters. The cruises Depart from National Harbor.
